Try a few of our spring-cleaning tips on for size. First up is the kitchen...

Start by cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer then wipe down all the shelves. Wipe down the cooktops and microwave and scrub away any caked-on food. You’ll need a powerful spray for the oven and you must check the instructions carefully – it’s a messy job so make sure your gloves are on!

• Just like the refrigerator, throw out any expired or old items in the pantry and cupboards. Then sort everything into categories for easy access in the future.
