This project was a major renovation of a beautiful home that required the conversion of its existing open deck into an outside room fit for summer soirees.

In updating the space, Paul Uhlmann Architects needed to provide adequate protection from the prevailing southerly winds as well as shade from the harsh Australian sun and privacy from adjoining homes. Some of the features requested were a spacious outdoor kitchen and bar facilities, which were incorporated on one side of the room while the other half was separated for lounging in relaxation.
